What can you as a producer do to conserve water or reduce
irrigation applied or manage low capacity wells? Colorado State University has
been conducting applied research and demonstration cropping and irrigation
management practices to address these issues near Burlington, Colorado. A four
year rotation of winter wheat, corn and soybeans was started at this site in
2006 with three irrigation management strategies to reduce irrigation needs or
to stretch limited water.
The field day will be held on June 20, 2008
starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Dennis Coryell farm shop located one half mile
east of county road 52 and X. Lunch will be served after the tour. A second
tour after lunch will be held to look at herbicide options for corn. If you
have questions, please call Joel Schneekloth at (970) 345-0508 or Alan Helm at
(970) 474-3479. |
